What is Hospice?
Hospice is a specialized program of care and services for you or someone you love, who is living with a life-limiting, advanced illness.
The decision to seek hospice care is an important one. Hospice focuses on “caring”, not curing, with the fundamental principle that each of us has the right to live each day pain free and with dignity.
Hospice is a concept of care that provides a team of professionals and volunteers who are experts in the field of end-of-life care.
MJHS has been providing hospice care for more than 35 years and is one of the most experienced hospice programs in the Greater Metropolitan New York and Long Island area. We are here to provide you with information, support your choices and advocate for your wishes. We are also here to tell you that you are not alone during this difficult journey.
To learn more about the many services provided under the hospice benefit, we encourage you to call 1-800-HOSPICE (467-7423) and ask to speak with one of our Hospice & Palliative Care board-certified nurses or physicians.
