What is Palliative Care?
The MJHS Jacob Perlow Palliative Care Consultation Team is committed to relieving pain and other distressing symptoms during a life altering illness. Our mission is to help our patients achieve the highest possible quality of life regardless of age, diagnosis or the need for other treatments or therapies.
Like Hospice, Palliative Care stresses comfort, compassion and pain relief. But it can be provided in conjunction with curative and aggressive treatment during any stage of a person’s illness. Our Palliative Care Program will assist you until the unpleasant symptoms from your serious illness have resolved or act as a bridge to Hospice Care when curative treatment is no longer an option or choice.
